Our history
as well as the whole history of Volyn land is
inalienable part of Ukrainians history. Ratne was
mentioned at first in the 12th century. A lot of researchers
linguistically explain that the name of Ratne comes
from the words "rat'" - military force or "ratnyki"
- armed detachments.
In
our days you can reveal Ratne as the place with
magic nature, kindhearted and hardworking people, and numerous sights of
architecture, history and culture.
Ratne
district is situated on important transfrontal ways
crossing (the international value
road M 19 that passes through territories of our district). It borders on two
Brest
districts of Republic Belarus. This location helps to strength friendly
connections, to exchange experience, to increase the amount of meetings with Belorussian neighbours. Almost
51,7 thousands of people live in 2 settlements and
in 67 villages that cover 143 thousands hectares of the Ukrainian territory.
The
economy and other business that take part in Ratne district are
mainly agricultural, that
is why the main forces are aimed at agricultural development. Our
agricultural produce is well-known far outside Ratne
district. These are butter, dried milk (Joint-stock Company "Ratnivskiy
molokozavod"), juices and infant’s food
(Limited liability company "Charivna skarbnytsya"),
canned products, frozen ready-to-cook foods (Zabollottya
drying vegetables factory of Limited liability company "Gal- Euro-Contact").
At
the same time woodworking industry is developed in this area, glued plywood
is produced by offspring "Vitaut" of Joint-stock Company "Khostilia" (Lithuania)), export-ready
products are produced (Limited liability company "Volyn'lisprom")
There
are 70 enterprises of small business functioning in Ratne
district. In spite of the global financial crisis the amount of businessmen
is increasing and figures up to 1310 persons.
Ratne district
is rich on minerals, mortar and boggy sands and huge beds of peat. There were
inspected 27 lakes and there were founded out 14 millions 510 thousands tons
of sapropel.
The
forests of our district are generous on the harvest of whortleberries,
blackberries, mushrooms, other medical plants.
Here we have native deposit of copper that
was marked by researches as the second world's volume of beds.
We
have significant reserves of phosphorites that can
be used in producing of fertilizer.
Ratne district is
unique and sightly with 32 lakes and 3 rivers,
which carry water through territory
of Ratne
area. Beautiful nature of district counts many places for creation of rest
areas, development of green tourism. The creation of green tourism farmsteads
was the beginnings of this process in our district. Charming hosts and
hostesses are always happy to receive domestic and foreign guests, who would
like to have joyful experience from communion with nature and touching to the
history of our region.
